Executive MBA is a management program for working professionals. The course duration of the program is 15 to 18 months. The main focus of the course is to provide management knowledge to professionals such that they can utilize them to grow their businesses or career.
Although the MBA and Executive MBA (EMBA) have the same structure, they differ in course design and learning pattern as both programs are for different people.
Executive MBA Eligibility Criteria
The requirements for an Executive MBA are similar to those for a Regular MBA. There is only one difference: work experience, which is heavily weighted during the hiring process. Below are the basic requirements for admission to the Executive MBA/PGDM program:
- Any candidate who has earned a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 50%. There is frequently no minimum score requirement for admission to the Executive MBA program.
- The applicant must have at least two years of managerial or executive-level work experience. Any MBA institute will not accept part-time work experience.
- Each institute has a different average of working years, or work experience, ranging from two to five years. Before applying, the candidate must review the admission requirements for their top-choice business schools.
- The applicant must have earned a passing grade on any of the relevant entrance exams for the MBA program.

Distance Education in Execuitve MBA
The EMBA is for working professionals so no regular classes are conducted. The classes are conducted either online or on weekends. Thus the EMBA program is a part-time MBA program or distance learning program.
