Course Description

Bharathiar University distance education came into existence in the year 1982, by the Tamil Nadu government. Although the university got its UGC approval in the year 1985. The University of Bharathiar covers the district of Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris, and Erode under its jurisdiction.

This university comprises 39 departments, offering 54 PG courses. Apart from Mphil. and Doctoral Programs. Bharathiar University has got the 21 st rank among the top 100 institutions in NIRF (National Institue ranking Framewroks’). It also has secured a Rank range between 801-1000 in the year, 2021 in The Times higher education world ranking universities. The university is also a partner in MHRD National Knowledge Network. It has been ranked 1st in the state of art and science category in MHRD-NIRF(2020).

The experienced teaching staff and dedicated administrative members are boons to the progress of the university. There is a fusion of industry in the curriculum. As the industries product development, R& D team, and Technical managers are involved in the university actively. ADMISSION

Admission to the distance learning course does not require any entrance exam. There is no upper age limit too. You just need to fill out the application form with the documents required. These forms are checked and verified. After which you are eligible for the course.

Important dates

The admissions are taken twice a year. The registration for the academic Calander session begins on the 1st may till September. The application form for the students residing in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, and the union territory of Puducherry is ₹ 150. Whereas the other states students need to pay an additional ₹ 750 for handling and postal charges with the first installment

PLACEMENTS

Around 90% of the students are placed in different reputed companies such as TCS, Infosys, roots, etc. Some are also placed in good banking institutes. The average package from the placement cell is 2 LPA to 10 LPA. Thus, we can say that the university has a good placement process.
