IIFT Execuitve MBA

The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) was established in 1963 as an autonomous body under the Ministry of commerce and industry. The main objective of the institute is to impart skills to the external trade sector of India. IIFT was granted “Deemed to be University” status in 2002. IIFT offers executive MBA in on-campus and off-campus modes.

Awards and Accreditations

  1. The institute is at 25th rank in NIRF ranking 2020-21.
  2. 10th in Business Today – MDRA.
  3. It has ranked 6th in the Chronicles All India B-School Survey.

Executive MBA at IIFT

IIFT offers on-campus executive MBAs for working professionals. The different programs offered by the institute are:

  1. Post Graduate Diploma in Global Human Resource Management (EPGD-GHRM).
  2. Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (EPGDIB).

Post Graduate Diploma in Global Human Resource Management (EPGD-GHRM)

The EPGD-GHRM is an 18-month program that is conducted at the Delhi campus. The program strongly focuses on International Business with an industry focus through course content pedagogy and industry interactions. EPGD-GHRM course includes the study of contemporary tools used in HRM. These are Design Thinking, Big Data, People Analytics, creating dashboards, etc.

The classes are on weekends at the IIFT campus in Delhi. The examinations are conducted on the IIFT campus in offline mode. Whereas under some circumstances the classes and exams can be online in proctored mode.

The course comprises 4 terms of core courses and an elective course. Thus, a total of 5 terms are there in the course. The different subjects in the terms are:

In term V there are 25 subjects. The participants are allowed to choose five subjects. The candidate must finalize electives for Term IV within the date as prescribed by the Programme Directors. Faculty will be decided after the selection of the electives. However, for an elective group to be formed, a minimum of 20 participants is required. Apart from this, one-week international immersion is also included in the course.


The participant must be a graduate in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks. He/she must have a minimum of 3 years of work experience. If the candidate possesses a post-graduate degree in law, engineering, architecture, medicine, pharmaceutical, agriculture, or horticulture a minimum of two years of work experience is required. An experience at the managerial level is mandatory before application.

Admission Process

Application to EPGD-GHRM is through the online Application Form. Applicants will have to register themselves at the IIFT website www.iift.ac.in under ‘New Admissions’ and pay registration fees using the link. The fee for the application is ₹ 2000/-. There are 120 seats available for admission. The admission forms should be submitted by August as the session begins in August itself.

Selection process

The correct application form that fulfills the eligibility criteria is accepted and invited for the interview. However, the selection is entirely based on the performance in the interview, academics, work experience, etc.

Fee Structure

The cumulative fee for the program is ₹ 4, 45,000/-. The fee includes the Alumni and library charges also. However, the library fee is refundable.

Executive Post Graduate Diploma in International Business (EPGDIB)

The EPGDIB is also an 18-month on-campus program at the IIFT Delhi campus. EPGDIB aims at enhancing the managerial competence of senior and middle-level executives by imparting systematic knowledge in all aspects relating to international business.

Course structure:

The course consists of three terms or semesters. The first two semesters comprise the compulsory core subjects whereas the participants can choose the electives in the third semester. They can specialize in any 1 out of 4 specialization streams which are as follows:

Apart from this, the candidates are required to select 7 elective courses from the above-mentioned electives. However, the electives must be finalized for Semester-III within the date as prescribed by the Programme Directors. A minimum of 20 students should be there to form any elective and faculties are decided on that basis only.


The participant must have a graduation degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks. He should have five years of working experience at the managerial level. He/she should get a no objection certificate from the employer for non-sponsored candidates.

Admission process

The application for the program is online. All applications received are reviewed and shortlisted candidates based on their qualifications & work experience. After this, the candidates appear for an interview, and based on their performance final selection is made. The fee for the application is ₹ 2,000/-.

Fee structure

The total fee for the course is ₹ 4,45,000/-. The fee includes the library and Alumni fee, where the library fee is refundable. However, the candidates are required to pay the fee of ₹ 1,05,000/- at the time of admission followed by four installments of ₹ 85,000/- each.

Placement in IIFT Executive MBA

This year the IIFT flagship MBA (IB) witness a 100% placement. The highest international CTC is 80 LPA whereas the domestic CTC is 46 LPA. Around 82 companies took part in the placement drive.
